Marketing and event management

Grün Berlin GmbH regards marketing both as an instrument for target group-specific advertising for its own parks and projects and for the positioning of Berlin in national and international city marketing and as a green city with a high quality of life.
The conception and further development of marketing ideas with new information and communications technologies dovetails with targeted collaborations with media partners and cultural and creative organisations.

This discharge of duties is closely linked to the promotion and leveraging of tourist potential. Grün Berlin GmbH is responsible for the city-wide “Green Sides of Berlin" initiative, a member of the German Garden Network Association, and is therefore committed to and involved in the development of a “green“ tourism and city marketing concept. The development of innovative offerings and initiatives with Berlin’s cultural and creative economy, including museums, hotels, restaurants, theatres and music venue, is as much a priority as the acquisition of promotion instruments.

Grün Berlin GmbH has also managed and implemented a supra-regional tourist routing system to the tourist attractions throughout Berlin, an especially important development for tourism in the city.

Event management

Event marketing is an important element of a company’s marketing.
Grün Berlin GmbH plans and manages events ranging from press conferences, trade fair participations and well-publicised openings of gardens and parks to events carefully tailored for specific different target and age groups in the city’s gardens.
Duties include forward event planning for artists, actors and caterers, operation and production planning, the securing of permits and on-site management. Events are accompanied by print products and press and media activities and are evaluated upon completion.

For example, Grün Berlin GmbH tailors events and programmes for its gardens and parks to the characteristics and visitor profile of the respective space, significantly raising awareness of the city’s parks and gardens. In 2008 alone a total of 50 events were staged in the Britzer Garden, while eight major events took place in the Gardens of the World. Highlights include the “Fire Flower and Classic Open Air“ concert in the Britzer Garden, an event which attracts 12,000 visitors and has been regularly sold out for a number of years, and the international festivals in the Gardens of the World, including the Chinese Mooncake Festival and the oriental “Sounds from 1001 Nights" festival.
