The creation of urban public open spaces, gardens, parks, squares and promenades requires a high level of creativity and sensitivity in order to meet the different demands regarding function and design and to incorporate the project into the existing cityscape. At the same time tenders must deliver aesthetically pleasing sustainable solutions that are both forward looking and cost effective.
Grün Berlin GmbH invites tenders for exceptional urban open spaces in conjunction with the region of Berlin. In the past tenders awarded have included contracts for the Lustgarten, Monbijoupark and Spreebogen Park in the government district. From autumn 2009 Grün Berlin GmbH will be responsible for one of the most important open space projects in Berlin – the development of the 220-hectare Tempelhof Field. For this project the company will invite open space planning tenders from around the globe.
Grün Berlin GmbH is also co-organiser of the Peter Joseph Lenné Award, the most prestigious international competition for young landscape architects.
